Child victims of abuse increasing in Hawaii, according to recent reportby Eric Naktin | April 6, 2025 (Updated June 6, 2025)
HONOLULU (Island News) -- The non-profit Friends of the Children's Justice Center of Oahu provided an update and advice Sunday as part of April's National Child Abuse Awareness & Prevention Month & Sex Assault Awareness Month.
Det. Jolon Wagner, with HPD Sex Crimes stated, "We have seen an increase in reports of sexual assault and child physical abuse."
Lynn Costales Matsuoka, Executive Director of the Sex Abuse Treatment Center, Kapiolani Medical Center stated, "For the sex abuse treatment center, last year we saw 369 children, our youngest client was two years old."
The sex abuse treatment center provides, treatment counseling, medical forensic exams of children and adults.
The five Children's Justice Centers in Hawaii last year tracked a combined total of 1839 cases of child sex abuse, felony physical abuse, child sex trafficking, internet crimes against children and children who witnessed a violent crime. What can we expect in a morally depraved culture today where females walk around where dental floss wherever there is water. And then if a moral Christian man speaks out against females dressing immodestly in public, he is immediately attacked and labeled as being a “legalist” and a “nut.” So, don't come crying to God when bad things happen!
Proverbs 1:25-30, “But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof: I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh; When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you. Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me: For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD: They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.”
It never ceases to amaze me how families and victims of sexual abuse will complain about how awful the United States is today, while society as a whole continues to promote low morals, sex outside of marriage, homosexuality and every manner of sexually promiscuous indecent attire. Women wearing bikinis are essentially naked in public.
As long as American society continues to live in denial that we have a morality problem in our nation, sexual crimes will continue to increase and worsen.
Earnest Hemingway (1899-1961) was right: “All things truly wicked start with innocence.”
