The Haughty Arrogance Of Mankind

Romans 1:28-32, “And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.”

The inspired Holy Bible ceases to amaze me, how accurately it describes the human race. We are a troublesome bunch, aren't we. Have you watched the news lately? It is disturbing! Some unwise preachers automatically assume that our text passage of Scripture from Romans chapter one only applies to homosexuals, but it applies to anyone who refuses to acknowledge and glorify God in their life, who have become unthankful toward their Creator.

I have been watching many astronomy documentaries on YouTube. I absolutely love astronomy! It is the study of God's amazing unsearchable greatness (Psalms 145:3). As I was watching a video yesterday, the narrator mentioned Stephen Hawking (1942-2018). He was an English theoretical astrophysicist, cosmologist, and author who was director of research at the Centre for Theoretical Cosmology at the University of Cambridge. Between 1979 and 2009, he was the Lucasian Professor of Mathematics at Cambridge, widely viewed as one of the most prestigious academic posts in the world. Sadly, Mr. Hawking was an avowed atheist. It blows my mind how such a brilliant man could be so foolish and wilfully blind. Romans chapter one absolutely includes Stephen Hawking! Professing himself to be wise, he became a fool!

In 100% of the hundreds of astronomy videos that I have watched on YouTube over the years, NOT ONE has bothered to even mention our Creator. Not one video! Ingrates! Neither does NASA, National Geographic, or any of the official "official" experts on the origin of our universe, bother to acknowledge or glorify God our omnipotent Creator. They are ingrates! After all that the good LORD has done for them, they dishonor and ignore Him.

The inspired King James Bible says in Romans 1:28b that “they did not like to retain God in their knowledge.” Why? The people who “glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools...” This includes a vast group of humanity extending far beyond the LGBTQ+ community.

Please don't make the ungodly error of only applying Romans chapter one to homosexuals, which is exactly what Pastor Steven Anderson's hateful New IFB (independent fundamental Baptist) movement have done. They claim that LGBTQ+ people are "reprobates" whom God hates and rejects, so they are now beyond the hope of the gospel. Nothing could be further from the truth of God's Word (2nd Peter 3:9). God desires for all men to come to repentance (to change their mind from unbelief to trust Christ).

Only haughty wicked people attempt to explain the origin and workings of our universe without acknowledging our omnipotent Creator who made all things (John 1:1-3).
