Beware Of The Cult Power That Clergy Have Over People

John 5:43, “I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.” 1st John 4:1, “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.”

I wish more churchgoers would get into the inspired Word of God. About 15 years ago I visited Saint Anthony's Roman Catholic church on Guam with a co-worker. What a cult! Since I have been a Baptist Christian all my life, I quickly noticed many differences between the Baptist churches I had attended and the Roman Catholic church. There were no Bibles anywhere! There were no songbooks in the pews. Catholics since childhood are indoctrinated with all the songs they sing. There was a basin at the rear of the auditorium containing so-called “holy water.” There was no presence of the Holy Spirit felt in the Catholic members nor their priests. 

The one disturbing thing that really stuck me with offense was when one of their priests got up to speak to several hundred parishioners and said:

“We are specially trained as priests in the Bible. Since you have not been trained, you could hurt yourself by studying the Bible on your own. So do not try! Do not read the Bible on your own, leave that skill to us as your leaders. We are trained in the Bible, so you should trust us as your priests to teach you the things of God!”

I was horrified by what I had just heard from their ungodly priest. I had attended hundreds of Baptist churches throughout my lifetime and not once did any Baptist preacher ever say anything as arrogant as what that wicked priest had just said.

Dear reader, never trust your pastor or priest to the extent that you blindly believe whatever he tells you. Acts 17:10-12, “And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews. These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. Therefore many of them believed; also of honourable women which were Greeks, and of men, not a few.” The Bereans gladly received the Word of God which the Apostle Paul preached, but they went even further, SEARCHING THE SCRIPTUES to verify the information. That is how we should be too!!!

The reason why so many churchgoers have been deceived is because they blindly go along with whatever their leaders teach them. Case in point is the ungodly Bob Jones University crowd, who have been deceived by the Devil, preaching a Calvinist false gospel. It breaks my heart to see people, young and old alike, being tricked by the Devil. Dr. Steve Pettit (shameful president of BJU) is a false prophet, who is pulling on the same rope as the Devil. The reason why these ungodly false teachers continue to prosper is because today's churchgoers are not noble like the Bereans. They refuse to SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES!!!
