Originally money was backed by gold and silver, so that you could literally trade your paper currency for grains of gold or silver. That ended with President Nixon. Even coins today from the Roman Empire still hold value due to their metallurgic content. It actually costs 4 cents today to manufacture a single penny, and 14 cents per nickel. Go figure! President Trump is trying to get rid of pennies.
Our economy will ultimately implode, and there will be riots in the street. I cannot help but wonder if President Trump's militarization of America's cities over alleged illegal aliens, is actually the elite's secret way of preparing a Police State to handle the future public uprising (riots and mayhem) when prices continue to rise, ribeye costs $50 per pound, milk costs $10 a gallon, and people can no longer afford to survive?

Add to that the evils of deliberate DEINDUSTRIALIZATION and ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTION for the past 50 years stealing American jobs, and you have a disaster in the making! I don't see housing (already significantly limited) coming down in price any time soon.
